Professional Expertise
Jon Hockman is a facilitator, executive coach, and organization development consultant with more than twenty-five years of experience working with leaders to make their best decisions about big challenges related to strategy, people, and performance.
Experience
Jon has consulted with leaders of over 150 organizations in the US and abroad — in a mix of corporate, government, and nonprofit arenas. His clients constitute a broad range of disciplines, including extensive work in scientific, technical, medical, and education organizations.
Prior to his current work, Jon spent seven years as the CEO of a national leadership development organization, where he drove success through every level of the organization, including significant revenue growth, major increases in customer satisfaction, and extensive staff development. Previously Jon was a major-gift fundraiser for both the Children’s Defense Fund and The American University. Jon grew up in Ohio, studied in Spain, lived in London, and has worked in China, Egypt, Indonesia, the UK, and just about everywhere in the US. He makes his home in Washington, DC.
In 2015, Jon was named as a Fellow of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), an honor that is bestowed upon fewer than 1% of association professionals. He holds the Certified Professional Facilitator (CPF) credential from the International Association of Facilitators and is a certified coach with the International Coach Federation.
Some of Jon’s best thinking happens while running along the banks of the Potomac. So far, he’s run eight marathons and a couple dozen half-marathons. One of these days, he will do a triathlon.
